So, it was some uncanny timing this evening when I got my latest eWeek and found a Scot Petersen article on the semantic web. [As an aside, the online version shows the article title/subtitle as "Data Delivery Is Web's Next Challenge/Opinion: The Semantic Web will rely on RDF and OWL to make data available and accessible via the Internet"

I've been following the progress of a promising tool for collaboration, called Chandler. It's very relevant in the semantic web context, see for example this quote from their DataModelVision Wiki page:

"Chandler ... should be thought of, as the poster child application for the Semantic Web, i.e., we're the first major legacy-free app to embrace a point of view extremely consistent with what W3C is trying to do here."

Though the tool itself is too beta to yet be useful, the underlying data storage seems more mature, and when I recently described an idea of a differently moderated web forum, the Chandler data storage, or repository was something I've thought about using for data storage.
