Speaking of libraries, mine apparently has an interesting way to get around some reporting requests. My son is now almost six. We have been going to the local library since he was three. One of the first books we had checked out was a picture book that told the story of a boy who lives on a farm who gets up one morning to find a huge egg in the chicken coop. Eventually, it hatches into a dragon and at the very end, the dragon flies off to join others of its own kind.
It was a fun book. I recently wanted to check it out again, but could not remember title/author. So, I went to the front desk and asked if they could pull up my history and tell me the name of the book I had checked out a few years ago. They were unable to. They purge the checkout history periodically and only had 6 months of data when I talked to them.
I have no idea if it is simply that they do not have the storage capacity or if it is a conscious decision. ---Tim Rushing [ Parent ]
