Timing is everything here, I sort of think that Novell have calculated that by putting SCO in trust now, they will have it in suspended near death. Bankruptcy administrators would probably have the sole activity of following through on the legal actions and producing discovery on demand. Once notSCO have got to the bottom of it, they will probably have discovery which is worth infinitely more in future cases than a closure of current cases on their terms would be. Only when that happens, can I see the administrators will be cut adrift. The most difficult issue, is keeping the key players in position for long enough.
But I agree, we won't hear most of the juicy bits for a long time. So much so, that I think we should define the end point as ceasing to trade, because there will never be another clear point at which to celebrate 2 legs==4 legs = bad==good
