Not true.
While a few of the UPL laws may read like the average citizen cannot give "legal advice" to a neighbor, the laws are virtually never used that way. I cannot find any cases where it has been applied to non-commercial speech by anyone without legal training (lawyer or paralegal).
What is a lot more likkely is that if you give advice that turns out wrong, you might find yourself being sued by the person that you gave your advice to. [ Parent ]
