In any case, it sounds to me like they are mainly trying to keep sealed their billing records. I suppose in the bar associations' bizarro world, keeping billing records sealed somehow helps preserve client-attorney privilege. I don't see how that can be, but then again I have a pretty hearty disdain for lawyers.
It certainly would help if California would work on making all documents available on-line. Until then, I suppose we'll just have to trust that the appropriate documents are being sealed (yeah, right).
In the meantime, it sounds like Al has obtained the documentation in which Doe 5 was awarded roughly $66,000 in attorney's fees by the Court. Hopefully he will get to collect on that.
