That's a very interesting story about the value the venture capitalists see in .NET. I suppose if you are not really interested in getting anything accomplished with a business - just buying and selling to make your own money - then maybe it does make sense to spend as much money on infrastructure. That goes against all business principles with regard to controlling costs though. Even at the macro-level where your "product" is a whole business, I would think it would still make more sense to minimize costs.
